The Propolis Face Balm is a high-performance skin protectant designed to shield the face and lips from environmental stressors. We manufacture this product using two primary, unprocessed ingredients: raw propolis harvested from our own Willamette Valley beehives and expeller-pressed sunflower oil from Circadian Farm.

The Ingredients

• Raw Propolis: Bees collect resin from local cottonwood trees and refine it into a potent, antimicrobial, and antioxidant substance. Used historically for over 2,000 years for its properties, raw propolis remains a staple of traditional apothecary. We hand-refine this raw resin using gentle, low-heat extraction to isolate the pure compound while preserving its natural chemical profile. Scientific research has documented propolis as an ingredient of interest for supporting skin health, including laboratory studies demonstrating properties that inhibit common pathogens like Candida yeast and certain viral strains.

• Cold-Pressed Sunflower Oil: We source oil pressed from sunflowers grown on land managed without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. By using an expeller press without heat, we maintain the oil’s natural fatty acid composition, ensuring it provides essential moisture and support to the skin’s moisture barrier.

Plastic-Free

This is a zero-plastic product in every sense. From the hive and the fields to the final container, none of our ingredients have ever touched plastic during their lifecycle. 

The Application

Our balm features a buttery, soft texture that melts on contact, making it easy to apply to the entire face or lips. It rubs in smoothly, leaving the skin feeling clean, supple, and nourished without an oily residue. It is an excellent lip butter for repairing dry, chapped lips and providing deep, restorative care. Important Storage Note: Please store this product in a cool place, such as a medicine cabinet. Avoid leaving it in a car or any hot environment, as the raw oils will melt. If the balm melts, the oil can soak into the uncoated paper packaging.
