The Delicious Finale:

We'll cap off our adventure by enjoying a delicious wild foraged feast prepared at a nearby campsite. Learn to transform your finds from the forest into flavorful dishes in our outdoor kitchen. We cater to all dietary needs.

TRIP DETAILS:

 

  • Location: Meeting point will be within a one hour drive of Portland, OR
  • Duration: Allow approximately 6 hours for the trip.
  • Cost: $150 per person.
    This fee secures your spot and is payable online upon receiving an invoice. Cancellations made until 7 days before the trip are eligible for a full refund.

In autumn, the Pacific Northwest forests are filled with an eruption of fungal life.

Join Rowen Forage Club on an unforgettable adventure into the mossy world of autumn mushrooms. Our guided forays offer the perfect opportunity to:

Learn the amazing features and variety of Oregon's wild mushrooms

  • A hands-on learning experience of the fungal biodiversity that grows in the Tillamook rainforest. 

Discover wild edible mushrooms - Chanterelles and more

  • Forage for chanterelles and other gourmet fungi. Learn where and how they grow, how to identify them, and gain knowledge that will last a lifetime. With expert guidance, you'll learn sustainable foraging practices that respect the delicate forest ecosystem.

Prepare, Cook & Feast 

  • At a nearby campsite, you will enjoy a meal made from the mushrooms we found on our expedition. You will learn how to transform your mushrooms from the forest floor to a delicious meal in our outdoor kitchen. Then hang out by a campfire while we enjoy a delightful feast - all diets are provided for.

The spring thaw turns us to a new chapter in the realm of wild edibles! Join Rowen Forage Club as we embark on exciting adventures in the lush spring forests near Portland, OR.

Spring Forage Club Experience:

  • Learning & Identification: Your expert guide, Sean Rowen, will guide you through identifying a fascinating array of wild edible plants (and morel mushrooms, if the conditions are just right!) inspiring confidence in recognizing them in their natural habitat.
  • Harvesting & Preparation: After honing your identification skills, you'll get hands-on experience harvesting delicious edible spring treasures, cleaning and preparation techniques before enjoying a delightful feast with the fruits of your labor, cooked fresh in our outdoor kitchen.
  • What Might We Find: Spring is an exciting time for foraging in the PNW with a vast array of edible plants and mushrooms. This is prime time for foraging fiddlehead ferns, stinging nettle, edible blossoms, wild ginger, oyster mushrooms and, if conditions are just right, we might be lucky enough to stumble upon the elusive morel mushroom!
